To qualify for debt being written off via an IVA, you must have a minimum of £6,000 of qualifying unsecured debt owed to two or more creditors. A debt write-off amount of around 72% is realistic based on the average figures of clients between January to June 2022. The debt write-off amount for each customer differs depending on their individual circumstances and is subject to approval by their creditors. This amount is also subject to creditors’ approval before an IVA can commence.
